Job Responsibility:

  • Prepares the patient at the onset of the visit
  • Assists the physician with procedures and examinations as needed
  • Assists the physician in the provision of patient and family education
  • Answers general questions
  • Performs clerical duties as necessary Files reports in patient records
  • Provides nursing care for the patient as directed by the physician
  • Maintains accurate medical records
  • Communicates clearly and appropriately with team members, providers and patients
  • Completes accurate coding of medical and laboratory procedures
  • Provides age-appropriate care to patients

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant diploma/certificate from a nationally recognized, accredited program OR Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing OR Completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces
  • Nationally recognized and accredited current Medical Assistant certification
  • BCLS certification

Nice to have:

Front and/or back-office experience in a medical office or nursing assistant in a hospital or patient care facility
