Requirements

Must be 18 years of age
Must be a Certified Home Health or Personal Care Aide
Pre-employment physical examination/PPD prior to patient contact
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Must have reliable transportation
if by car, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required
Nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Responsibility

Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks
Assist with the personal care needs of the client (bathing, dressing, etc.)
Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry
Transport client to doctor's office, grocery store, and other essential errands
Assist the client with the self-administration of medications
Observe and report any changes in the client's condition
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times due to access to sensitive information
Maintain regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department
Follow all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements
Abide by all regulations, policies, procedures, and standards

Requirements

Meets the training requirements of the State
At least 18 years of age
High School Diploma Preferred
Must have current driver’s license
Reliable transportation with current and valid auto liability insurance
At least one year’s experience, preferred, as a Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home, or home health agency
OR completion of Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide Program
Must be able to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively
Demonstrates interest in the welfare of ill and elderly
Proof of current CPR (Florida only) and Hepatitis profile

Job Responsibility

Provide personal healthcare and related services to the client in their place of residence
Assist in providing a safe and clean environment
Work cooperatively with patient and family and share observations and problems with the supervisor
Works under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse
