Job Description:

The Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer serves as a senior technical contributor within the IT Operations organization, responsible for the planning, engineering, implementation, and operational support of Azure Virtual Desktop and related cloud infrastructure services. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong process discipline and customer engagement, supporting clinicians, analysts, executives, and technical stakeholders across the enterprise.

Job Responsibility:

  • Engineering and operating Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pools, session hosts, images, and remote app delivery through AVD lifecycle operations including image updates, host refresh cadence, validation, and change execution
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting performance, capacity, and session stability
  • drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes
  • Coordinating with SRE, Network, Security, and Cloud/Infrastructure teams to resolve cross-domain dependencies
  • Producing clear runbooks/SOPs, technical documentation, and customer-ready communications for maintenance and outages

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • O365 Endpoint Administrator (MD-102) certification
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator AZ-104 certification

Nice to have:

  • Azure experience (AVD, compute, networking, storage)
  • Cluster/pooled environment management
