The Centre Operations Manager (Testbed and Events) plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe and effective day-to-day running of the National Centre for Child Health Technology (NCCHT) and its Testbed facilities. This role combines technical and operational management of the NCCHT Testbed with the day to day running of the centre, including events and stakeholder management responsibilities.
Job Responsibility:
Day-to-day management of the NCCHT building and its specialist Testbed Centre
Ensure the building operates smoothly, overseeing access, safety, maintenance coordination and the overall experience of colleagues, tenants and visitors
Maintain a well-managed, safe and welcoming environment
Technical leadership of the Testbed Centre
Ensure the Testbed is fully prepared for use, that audio-visual systems function reliably, and that users feel supported
Play a key role in safeguarding the data generated within the Testbed, ensuring that recordings, consent processes and data handling meet the highest standards of safety, privacy and Information Governance
Requirements:
Degree/ Level 6 qualification or below experience
Evidence of continued personal development
Project Management Qualification (PRINCE2) or equivalent
Experience coordinating events, demonstrations or workshops involving AV and technical setup
Experience working with external partners, tenants or stakeholders in a customer-facing capacity
Experience managing or maintaining specialist facilities, laboratories, simulation spaces or similar environments
Experience of overseeing and training colleagues, including coaching and supporting with workload allocation
Knowledge of simulation technologies and how AV integrates with simulation workflows
Understanding of data protection, consent processes, secure data handling and recording governance
Ability to diagnose and resolve AV and simulation system faults
Ability to deliver high-quality user support, training and guidance
Strong relationship-building skills with partners, tenants and stakeholders
Ability to use Microsoft Office 365 applications and audio visual technology
Ability to oversee initiatives, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of objectives
Knowledge of workplace safety regulations, and experience of creating risk assessments
Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
Strong attention to detail with the ability to organise and problem solve
