Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience managing challenging behaviour, leading a team, and creating positive outcomes for students who have struggled in mainstream education? We are recruiting for a Centre Manager to lead a well-established alternative provision supporting primary and secondary-aged students, including Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 learners. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a provision that focuses on rebuilding confidence, improving wellbeing, and helping young people re-engage with education in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Job Responsibility
Leading and managing a small staff team
Creating a safe, positive, and structured learning environment
Running and supporting educational and enrichment sessions
Managing behaviour and implementing effective de-escalation strategies
Supporting students with SEMH needs and emotional regulation
Working closely with schools, families, and external professionals
Monitoring student progress, engagement, and wellbeing
Developing strategies to support students back into education and positive pathways
Supporting KS4 students with next steps, including college and apprenticeships
Promoting high standards of safeguarding and student welfare
Requirements
Has experience working with young people with SEMH and additional needs
Has strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Has experience leading sessions, projects, or teams
Is confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
Can build positive relationships with vulnerable young people
Is passionate about improving outcomes for students who have struggled in mainstream settings
Is energetic, proactive, and comfortable participating in sports and physical activities
Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
