Job Description:

As the first and last impression of the Hotel, this high profile department carries a special responsibility. As the voice of the hotel, the Core Agent ensures that all communication channels operate flawlessly, including the hotel’s phone and paging system.

Job Responsibility:

  • Selling the hotel and providing information to prospective guests
  • Capturing sales from incoming calls
  • Coordinating details of reservations for all Hotel Rooms, Spa, Restaurant/Bar, Room Service
  • Ensuring guests are well looked after from the start
  • Providing general information about the hotel and assisting callers
  • Responding to emergencies by connecting the appropriate individuals by phone or radio
  • Acting as the friendly and courteous voice of Room Service and Housekeeping Team

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Knowledge of phone operations
  • High degree of patience and work with discretion
  • Outgoing personality and a can-do approach
  • Open availability and the ability to work all shifts including weekends, overnights, and holidays
  • Smart Serve Certification is required
  • 1-2 years previous experience as a Telecommunication Operator, Customer Service Sales Representative, Coordinator or Order Taker in a fast paced Hotel operation
  • Previous experience with OPERA PMS is an asset
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and spoken English is required
  • Additional language a definite asset
  • Completion of Post Secondary Education in Hospitality or related field
  • Willing team player, comfortable with computer systems as well as communicating over the telephone

  • Complete daily checklist that includes but not limited to pre-arrival calls, run trace reports and action on them, arrival review/audit, run daily reports, assigning room blocks, cleaning up reservations that come via website, OTA and other channels, manage email inboxes timely and professionally, conduct outbound calls for any hot leads, assist with cleaning up checked out with open balances, entering STR data, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of all hotels’ layouts, room locations, room types, as well as hotel services, features, and hours of operation
