Job Description

The pharmacy technician prepares and distributes medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsible for performing a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of medications. May include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, driving, refilling, etc. Responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of receipt from vendors to the shipment/delivery within prescribed service parameters. Responsible for maintaining medication stock levels and proper storage of medications to ensure safe and cost effective pharmaceutical services.

Requirements

  • High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Florida Drivers License (Class E Non-Commercial)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer focus and positive attitude required
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn material handling equipment
  • Must be detail oriented, quality focused, self-motivated and work in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced distribution environment while meeting established distribution quotas and standards
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and appropriately uses information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned task

Nice to have

  • Previous community pharmacy, warehouse experience or graduate of the BHSF Pharmacy Technician Program preferred
  • Material handling equipment certification preferred and required within 3 months for advanced warehouse support
  • PTCB or equivalent certification preferred and required within 6 months for advanced replenishment support

  • Manage development & performance of their team and setting goals for streamlined operations of their facility
  • Ensure that hiring goals are met and maintained to budget, resources are in place for fulfillment of budgeted prescriptions, prescription cost to fill is monitored, orders are delivered to stores on time and with efficiency, and compliance with the regulatory requirements of all state licenses is maintained
  • Partner with the corporate team to meet these goals
