The Center Medical Director will lead the clinical team at an Oak Street Health center to provide the best patient care and create a great workplace. They will spend 80% of their time on clinical work and 20% on administrative leadership. Responsibilities include onboarding providers, maintaining evidence-based care, mentoring providers, and supporting strategic initiatives while fostering a positive culture.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the clinical team at the center
Provide primary care with 80% clinical time and 20% administrative time
Model excellent medical care and implement the care model
Serve as a mentor, coach, and advisor to providers
Drive implementation of OSH strategic initiatives
Onboard new providers
Provide evidence-based care to keep patients healthy and out of the hospital
Educate providers on clinical guidelines and the value-based full risk model of care
Conduct performance reviews and develop plans to achieve provider goals
Acknowledge and celebrate successes of care team members
Support a positive, Oaky culture of joy in practice
Requirements:
M.D., D.O., or A.P.N or P.A. graduates
Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine required for M.D. or D.O.
Board certification in Family, Adult, or Gerontology for A.P.N.
Experience in clinical leadership roles, leading and coaching providers to be the best they can be for their patients and their colleagues
Experience using a metrics-driven approach to the provision of medical care and/or quality projects
Passionate about their work and motivated to be a part of a fast-growing organization
Awareness of their leadership skills and potential for impact and eagerness to share those with a fast-growing team
Commitment to older adults and low-income patients
Comfort with ambiguity and a love for problem solving
Ability to remain calm in the midst of challenges and guide others to effective solutions
5+ years of experience in outpatient practice preferred
US work authorization
Nice to have:
Fellowship training in Geriatrics
other professional degrees (e.g., M.B.A., J.D., M.P.H.)
