Job Description:

A renowned consultancy, known for delivering high-quality services across various sectors, is seeking an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join their Birmingham team. The successful Principal Designer will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and managing design risks for a diverse range of clients, including those in commercial, residential, retail, and industrial sectors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the implementation and compliance of CDM regulations across multiple projects
  • Provide expert advice on safety regulations and design risk management
  • Oversee the development of pre-construction information and construction phase plans
  • Conduct health and safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Facilitate design review meetings and workshops to ensure risk management is prioritised
  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and contractors to ensure effective communication of health and safety requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations and design risk management
  • Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in a senior or leadership role within a consultancy environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with diverse teams
