The CDL Switcher/Shuttle Driver is responsible for shuttling merchandise or raw materials between properties. They will also deliver local backhauls as needed.
Job Responsibility
Operate tractor/trailer trucks, straight body trucks, forklifts and floor jacks in a safe and knowledgeable manner
Perform all DOT and Company required pre-trip safety inspections and maintain logs & records
Keep a daily record including trip reports and trailer yard inventory
Maintain exterior of all dock areas, including sweeping, removal of debris, snow and ice
Inspect tail end of drop trailer loads to ensure products are properly secured
Practice and adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines
Perform other job-related projects and duties as directed by warehouse supervision
Place paperwork on dropped trailers
Assist in product transfer from warehouse racks to trucks
Maintain general housekeeping duties
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required
A minimum of 6 months of driving tractor trailers experience preferred
CDL Class A Driver's license
DOT Medical Card
CDL Tank Vehicle Endorsement (if applicable)
Knowledgeable of Department of Transportation rules and regulations
Ability to operate Material Handling equipment
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
Nice to have
6 months driving tractor trailers experience
