The CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting guests between Glacier Bay Lodge and key arrival/departure points, including the airport and ferry terminal. This role is critical in providing a welcoming first impression and ensuring guests enjoy a safe, comfortable, and reliable shuttle experience. Drivers must demonstrate professionalism, excellent customer service, and adherence to all safety and transportation regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Safely operate lodge shuttle vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws
Transport guests and employees between Glacier Bay Lodge, the airport, and ferry terminal according to established schedules
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and functionality
Maintain accurate mileage, fuel, and trip logs
Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to management
Provide a warm, professional, and courteous experience for all passengers
Assist guests with luggage, mobility needs, and boarding as required
Share basic information about Glacier Bay Lodge and the surrounding area to enhance guest experience
Handle guest questions or concerns with professionalism, escalating issues when necessary
Track and report fuel usage for shuttle vehicles
Support transportation logistics by adhering to daily schedules and communicating delays or changes
Assist with coordination of guest arrivals and departures to ensure smooth lodge operations
Maintain cleanliness of shuttle vehicles, both interior and exterior
Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines
Maintain a valid CDL license with passenger endorsement and comply with all DOT requirements
Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings as required
Requirements:
Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and no airbrake restrictions
Minimum of 23 years of age
1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience
No suspension of driving privileges for moving violations in the past 3 years
Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
Prior experience in passenger transportation, hospitality, or tourism preferred
Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
