This opportunity will require flexibility because the Union Drivers primarily cover senior drivers. Drivers will start at the bottom tier, allowing them to perform various tasks like Direct Store Deliveries, Shuttles, and Pick-ups. They will work both day and night shifts with potential layovers; there are no fixed schedules. A KeHE Driver is responsible for operating a Tractor-Trailer vehicle, observing all road, highway, and DOT guidelines, in a safe and efficient manner, and transferring merchandise from the distribution center to retail customers over an assigned geographical area.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate Tractor-Trailer and/or straight truck in a safe and efficient manner
  • Deliver merchandise to assigned customers
  • Pick up back-hauls and return merchandise
  • Complete all required paperwork and logs at the end of each trip
  • Maintain contact with retailers and accounts receivable specialists
  • Other duties and special projects as requested
  • Must maintain good attendance
  • Maintain safe work practices
  • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information

Requirements:

  • Prior delivery route experience is preferred
  • Minimum 12 months of current, consecutive CDL Class A commercial vehicle driving experience
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required
  • Must be able to carry, lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
  • Have the ability to communicate well with internal and external customers and management
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to follow safe working practices, as instructed, and the ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision
  • Must be able to carry 20 pounds, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, climb, bend, and walk
  • May need to drive between stores as per assignment
