CCTV Specialist

An opportunity has arisen to work within the SO15 Counter Terrorism Command and the National Digital Exploitation Service (NDES) CCTV Investigations Unit. The creation of the Counter Terrorism Operations Centre (CTOC) has turned Empress State Building into a dedicated Counter Terrorism hub, housing specialist police and intelligence community partners, fostering closer working relationships between them, thereby strengthening national security. NDES is made up of 7 services and Service 3 is known as the Digital Media Exploitation Unit (DMEU). This unit focuses on exploiting all aspects of Digital Media and is responsible for the identification, retrieval, assessment and production of evidence from a wide range of digital and video devices within Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) investigations. DMEU consists of four teams: (1) DMEU Examinations, (2) DMEU Assessments, (3) DMEU Digital Media Solutions and (4) DMEU CCTV Investigations. The CCTV Investigations unit is split into three teams – CCTV Recovery, CCTV Review, and CCTV Development and Support. This advert is for a position on CCTV Recovery and Review. A post is available in each team, but there is a need for omnicompetence in the unit. The CCTV Review Team review the CCTV footage and provide evidential or intel packages for recovered CCTV. They are responsible for liaising with the Recovery Team with further operational advice and guidance for the investigation.
