This is a full-time salaried position with CCA Oshawa Operations located at the General Motors Oshawa Campus. As a Supervisor in Production, you will lead teams of employees and technical personnel to drive operational excellence across manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities include managing daily operations, improving business processes, and fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration. You may oversee production activities, quality assurance, inspection, problem-solving, and GM Built-in-Quality initiatives. You are expected to exercise independent judgment within the Global Manufacturing Systems framework, with a strong focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). In this role, you will also help shape our Organizational Culture by consistently demonstrating GM’s Cultural Behaviors to achieve business results.
Job Responsibility:

Requirements:
Ideally 2 years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Analyze and respond promptly to the manufacturing daily plan, making necessary adjustments to operations as required
Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Possess the experience to manage change and navigate ambiguity
Drive accountability through people and processes which may require difficult conversations
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership experience
High level of critical thinking and analytical ability where problems are complex
Proven project management and communication skills
Basic computer proficiency (i.e. MS office, excel, word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) etc.
Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing Teams
Knowledge of GMS and BPD processes
Demonstrated understanding of COMMWIP (Correction, Overproduction, Material Movement, Motion, Waiting, Inventory, Processing) or Lean Six Sigma– Waste Elimination
Knowledge of the Collective Agreement and ability to administer provisions from the agreement
Nice to have:
Experience with Labour relations/UNIFOR
Global Manufacturing System (GMS) knowledge
Successful completion of a University degree or college diploma
