CBT Therapist / Clinical Psychologist

Pastoral Care at Wellington College is seeking a Clinical Psychologist or BABCP accredited CBT Therapist to deliver evidence‑based psychological therapy supporting student mental health and wellbeing. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, our 400 acre estate provides a distinctive and inspiring place to work. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist or CBT Therapist to join our Counselling and Therapeutic Team within Pastoral Care. This role delivers high‑quality, evidence‑based psychological therapies to students aged 13–18, predominantly through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, alongside other evidence‑based approaches aligned with the post holder’s training and professional scope, supporting student mental health in line with NICE guidance and professional standards. Working collaboratively with pastoral, medical and safeguarding colleagues, the CBT Therapist will deliver individual therapeutic interventions, undertake assessment and formulation, and contribute to safe and effective risk management within a school and boarding environment. The role involves maintaining accurate and secure clinical records, using routine outcome measures, and engaging positively with students, families and colleagues in line with ethical, safeguarding and consent frameworks. Alongside direct clinical work, the post holder will contribute to service development and evaluation, working with the Head of Student Mental Health to support the ongoing design and delivery of the College’s CBT pathway. There may also be opportunities to contribute to group‑based interventions, staff training and wider mental health initiatives, supporting a whole‑school approach to wellbeing. This is a part‑time role of 22.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, working predominantly during College term time. In order to ensure continuity of provision, some non‑term‑time working is required; the additional six weeks’ hours are flexible and will be planned in line with pupil needs and service requirements.
