Help deliver excellent patient care by performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease in the cath lab setting. Fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging, including knowledge of the general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.
Job Responsibility:
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease in the cath lab setting
Independently operate all ancillary equipment in the lab including but not limited to: IVUS, pressure wire, rotablator, IMPELLA, atherectomy devices, laser and angiojet
Demonstrate competencies in scrubbing techniques of all diagnostic and interventional procedures
Utilize good radiation safety practices
Exhibit strong organization skills such as: strong interaction and time management skills, independent problem solving and conflict resolution skills, and fiscal management skills
Ensure departmental atmosphere is professional and patient oriented to enhance patient care
Responsible for managing staff and room activities to maximize productivity
Coordinate staffing assignments within room to ensure technical role assignments are responsive to patients’ needs and reflective of staff member abilities
Make suggestions for staffing and procedural changes and collaborate with other departments in the hospital as needed
Work in conjunction with schedule coordinator, managers, supervisors, and other room leaders to facilitate departmental productivity
Initiate actions to minimize case delays, report schedule information promptly to schedule coordinator and other appropriate personnel
Operate the radiographic equipment utilizing radiation safety procedures
Operate physiologic recorder/database system with expertise recognizing arrhythmias and normal/abnormal waveforms
Operate manifold, power injector, and other support equipment (VCR, ACT machines, oximeters, and transport monitors)
Requirements:
Associates Other and Minimum five (5) year clinical experience in a hospital setting, upon hire
Registered Cardiac Electr, upon hire or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, upon hire or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire or Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months
