Job Responsibility

  • Performs complete patient assessment
  • Recognizes significant changes in patient status and seeks appropriate resources
  • Coordinates or collects physiologic monitoring data: vital signs, monitor results, lab and diagnostic test results
  • Performs ongoing assessment according to unit policy
  • Documents assessment in compliance with hospital policy

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: AR, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 12 - months

Knows patients' conditions and reports significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader, and/or physician. Implements patient safety initiative and protocols including medication safety practices, physician orders, consult notifications
  • Evaluation: Reassesses patients at appropriate intervals following interventions. Notifies physician as necessary to modify interventions. Adjusts nursing care to meet patient's emerging and changing needs

  • 6 months of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses who have never worked in an acute care setting are hired through our residency training program)
  • Previous cath lab experience preferred, but not required
  • BLS through the American Heart Association is required
  • Must be able to participate on a rotating call schedule and report to the hospital within 30 minutes of call
