As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients
Advocate for fellow nurses to support them in reaching their full potential
Mentor others in competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education
Provide direct patient care as appropriate
Evaluate care given by staff, coach to improve care, ensure standard of care is maintained
Prepare work schedules, assign personnel
Coordinate patient flow on the unit to facilitate timely and effective care
Demonstrate appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations
Utilize the nursing process including accurately assessing patient's physical, emotional, spiritual, and learning needs
Requirements:
Two years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience
Associates Of Science in Nursing
Registered Nurse: AZ (RN:AZ)
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Skilled Working Knowledge of the EMR and hospital systems
