Job Description

Caterplus – More Than a Meal, It’s a Community. At Caterplus, we don’t just serve food - we create warm, welcoming spaces where the over-55 community can connect, share, and enjoy great company over delicious meals. Every dish is made with care, fresh ingredients, and a big helping of heart. Earlsdon Park Retirement Village is looking for an experienced Full Time Catering Manager to lead its catering service in Coventry. This is a hands-on role. You will be close to the day-to-day operation, leading the kitchen team, supporting front of house and helping to deliver functions and events across the village. Some days will be about planning, rotas and stock. Other days, you may be stepping into service, supporting the bar or helping the team through a busy lunch. The right person will be a confident manager who knows how to keep standards high without losing the personal touch. Residents, visitors and guests should feel welcome, well looked after and in safe hands. We’re a people-first business with over 10,000 colleagues across the UK, serving everything from stadiums to hospitals, schools to workplaces. Our mission? To enrich lives everywhere, every day.

Job Responsibility

  • Take responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen, bar and front of house areas
  • Leading, supporting and developing the catering team
  • Maintaining strong food and service standards across the village
  • Supporting functions, resident events and hospitality services
  • Managing rotas, labour control and stock ordering
  • Keeping food safety, due diligence and health and safety records accurate and up to date
  • Coaching team members and helping them build confidence in their roles
  • Building good working relationships with residents, colleagues and client stakeholders
  • Creating a welcoming, professional and resident-focused service
  • Stepping into the kitchen or front of house operation when the team needs support

Requirements

  • Solid experience in hospitality, catering or a care setting
  • Previous management experience in hospitality, catering or a similar environment
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • A good understanding of food safety, compliance and due diligence
  • Confidence managing functions and resident events
  • The ability to coach, motivate and support a team
  • Clear communication and a calm approach under pressure
  • A genuine focus on service, residents and the overall guest experience
  • You will need to be comfortable both front and back of house. Just as comfortable speaking with residents as you are organising service, checking standards or supporting the kitchen team.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Company benefits package
  • Opportunities for development and progression
  • A supportive working environment
  • The chance to make a real difference in a resident community
  • Free, tasty meals
  • Flexible working
  • Plenty of Time to Unwind - 28 days of holiday, and after two years, enjoy even more with 31 days
  • Leave for life's important moments
  • Give back time - paid volunteering days
  • Room to grow - career development and learning opportunities
  • Wellbeing first - mental health support and wellbeing perks
  • Financial security - pension schemes and life assurance
  • Exclusive discounts - save on entertainment, leisure, and even travel
