Job Description:

Delaware North Sportservice is searching for part-time Catering Attendants to join our team at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. As a Catering Attendant you will provide outstanding customer service while serving food and beverage products in a banquet setting, ensuring that guests’ needs are being met in a positive, efficient, and courteous manner. The ideal candidate will be friendly, positive and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Sets up tables for function in accordance with banquet event order
  • Accurately transports food and beverages to guests in a timely manner
  • Performs necessary tasks to service guests including: taking and filling drink orders, providing refills, answering questions, and clearing of dirty dishes
  • Serves alcoholic beverages responsibly, requests identification, adheres to all unit and company alcohol service policies and procedures
  • Monitors guest needs on a continual basis ensuring all requests are promptly fulfilled
  • handles any guest complaints
  • Replenishes food on buffet lines (if applicable)
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment for guests and fellow team members
  • Breaks down event according to company procedures

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hotel, full-service restaurant, catering facility, or club environment
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, including listening skills and ability to take food and beverage orders and fill those orders correctly
  • No high school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire length of shift
  • Exposure to variable temperatures
  • May be required to work in narrow spaces
