Job Description:

The post holder is a member of a team responsible for providing catering services within a day service to service users, which will include preparing and serving food and beverages, cleaning. An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Catering Assistant within Kilton View day service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing catering services within a day service to service users
  • Preparing and serving food and beverages
  • Cleaning
  • Supporting the team with providing health and nutritious meals prepared in line with speech and language guidance (SALT) and individual dietary requirements
  • Preparing, cooking and serving of meals in line with Hygiene Codes of Practice and legislation with particular attention to quantities (portion control), quality and the appearance of meals
  • Assisting with maintaining the highest possible standard of hygiene and health and safety
  • Assisting with menu planning

Requirements:

  • Numeracy and Literacy to level 1
  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2
  • Experience in use of cleaning materials and equipment
  • Experience in general cleaning duties
  • Experience of working within a catering service
  • Able to follow instructions and understand written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH
  • Basic IT Skills
  • Right to Work in the UK

Nice to have:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Knowledge of National Standard of Cleanliness
  • Knowledge of PLACE
  • Knowledge of Basic nutrition
