The successful candidate will be / have: • Highly analytical, naturally curious and passionate about category performance and shopper behaviour • Experienced in working with EPOS, market data and insight tools to generate clear, actionable recommendations • Organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple data streams and projects simultaneously • A proactive, self-starting mindset with a strong sense of ownership • Confident communicator, able to translate complex data into compelling, customer-friendly narratives • A minimum of 4 years’ experience within Category Management / Trade Marketing in FMCG • Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of pricing, promotions, distribution and retailer dynamics • A desire to influence, challenge and continuously improve how things are done The key responsibilities of the role will include: • Leading category reporting and analysis, identifying key trends and translating these into clear business opportunities • Developing data-led trade channel plans to drive distribution, visibility and penetration across key customers • Building compelling category stories and selling decks to support the Sales team in winning with customers • Partnering closely with retailers, using insight to influence range reviews, merchandising decisions and promotional strategies • Acting as the category expert internally, ensuring brand plans are aligned with market realities and customer priorities • Managing insight providers and data sources to ensure the business stays ahead of category developments • Supporting NPD with robust category rationale, ensuring innovation meets both shopper needs and customer expectations • Tracking and delivering against key KPIs including rate of sale, stocking points and activation effectiveness If you’re ready to take ownership of category strategy within a fast-paced, high-growth FMCG business – this is the role for you.
