Category Manager would be responsible to drive revenue and margin growth through assortment planning, on-site merchandising, promotion planning, inventory management, and managing day-to-day commercial activities. The role requires the individual to analyze data or insights to determine consumer trends, and develop and execute plans to maximize customer appeal on all e-commerce channels.
Job Responsibility:
Researching and analyzing trends in sales and consumer behavior
Reporting of brand performance on a weekly basis with insights
Analyze data and provide insights to determine industry and consumer trends
Drafting reports for the organization to report forecast weekly/monthly sales & enhance sales too
Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
Foster trust relationships with marketplaces/KAMs to achieve better pricing and quality of services
Adjusting strategies to improve sales with new target markets and platforms
Coordinating with brand managers/store etc. and briefing market research initiatives
Collaborate with fulfilment team if any queries raised
Work on forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
Liaise with marketing teams to determine promotional activities of a product category
Lead the Catalogue management team to ensure products go Live!
Communicating with Buyers and working with the Catalogue Management team to ensure products go Live!
Collaborate with brand managers and merchandisers to expand product categories
Check & ensure that the products display is in a way that is visually appealing to the customer on the website
Producing, adapting, and advising on display and current marketing materials as needed
Ensuring the product categories along with web store displays are optimized for sales and marketing
Plan and implement web store displays based on different seasons
Days of supply are considered to ensure that a product has enough facings to avoid out of stocks and overly stocked products
Checking and managing inventory for various product categories
Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
Plan and implement promotions and marketing strategies
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or supply chain management
8-10 years’ experience in retail and marketing
Experience of leading a team
Excellent grasp of category management, campaign management & promotional planning
Up to date with the latest category management principles
Proficient at evaluating current business retail practices
Ability to write well and generate reports on market activity
Possess great negotiation and interpersonal skills
Ability to think from a consumer perspective and understand buying behaviour
Analytical, creative, and goal-driven thinking
Nice to have:
Experience with different E-commerce platforms is a plus
