Job Description:

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of parents and their little ones? Join Boots as a Category Manager - Baby Accessories, Home and Travel Nursery & Toys (Baby Non-Consumables) in Nottingham and lead the charge in transforming our Baby category into the go-to destination for families across the UK! In this exciting role, you will lead teams across various sub-categories within Baby to help drive Boots to be the destination retailer for parents of babies and young children. Your skills in relationship building, commercial acumen, and analytical thinking will empower you to implement impactful category initiatives that drive commercial objectives, making a genuine difference to our customers and plans. We are driving market share growth in a challenging landscape, where we face fierce competition on price and promotions, led by the grocers. The role is brilliantly suited to supporting you in enhancing your core trading skills, where you will use traditional levers such as price and promotions to impact performance. You will need tenacity, holding suppliers accountable for delivering strong bespoke plans for Boots, landing market exclusive content, and leading offers. With the best and widest baby offering in the market, we're constantly evolving our range, introducing newness and exclusive content, and giving customers more reasons to choose Boots. Almost a third of our Baby sales now come from dotcom, and we are rapidly expanding our dropship offering. You'll work closely with our dotcom teams to drive the online plan forward. This challenge will test and develop your trading skills while offering great fun and the autonomy to manage the category as if it were your own business, supported by a brilliant team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Organise and lead commercial teams: Use your autonomy and entrepreneurial thinking to deliver initiatives that drive commercial results
  • Develop profitable initiatives: Lead the team to create customer-focused initiatives that maximise business value
  • Shape trading best practices: Demonstrate flexibility in our approach to category trading
  • Use market insights: Leverage competitor knowledge to inform our trading plan
  • Compete against major retailers: Take on the challenge of gaining market share in a competitive landscape.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability: Experience in a dynamic commercial environment, empowering teams to achieve objectives
  • Strong track record: Demonstrated success in a commercially focused role
  • Relationship management: Exceptional skills to initiate new concepts and inspire others
  • Analytical skills: Strong numerical abilities to create compelling narratives from data
  • Passion for commercial impact: A genuine desire to make a difference for our customers.
What we offer:
  • Boots Retirement Savings Plan
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Generous employee discounts
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child
  • Flexible benefits scheme including options to buy additional holiday, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes, and much more
  • Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.
