As a Category Manager – Electrical OEM, Cable Assemblies at NTS Singapore, you will be responsible for defining and executing category strategies for electrical components and cable assemblies across regional and global supply bases. You will work closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure technical alignment, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity. This role requires strong commercial acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to lead supplier relationships in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute long-term category strategies to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and supply security
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including competitive bidding, contract negotiations, and long-term supplier agreements (LTAs)
Drive supplier development programs focused on quality, capacity, cost optimization, and risk mitigation
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production transfer projects by ensuring supplier readiness and on-time delivery
Conduct market intelligence and cost analysis, including TCO and should-cost modeling, to identify value creation opportunities
Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers up to executive level
Develop and manage local, regional, and global supplier bases for critical electrical components and cable assemblies
Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and intellectual property (IP) protection
Implement and maintain vendor risk management frameworks, including periodic risk assessments
Track category performance, monitor KPIs, and generate periodic productivity and savings reports
Lead cross-functional sourcing projects from concept through industrialization and serial production
Negotiate cost reduction initiatives aligned with product cost roadmaps through fact-based negotiations and VA/VE
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering (Electrical preferred), Business, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of strategic procurement experience in mechatronics and electrical components/assemblies with technical validation
Proven experience collaborating with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and project teams
Strong background in supplier development, cost optimization, and risk management
Hands-on experience in contract negotiation, TCO analysis, and cost modeling
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOMs, and translate constraints into sourcing requirements
Experience in early supplier involvement, strategic project sourcing, and supplier qualification based on QLTC
Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and project management skills
Self-motivated, positive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while being a strong team player
