In this role, you will act as a vital partner to our partner’s demand carriers, focusing on developing high-impact category strategies and value-capturing plans. As a Category Management Supervisor, you are accountable for the end-to-end development of category strategies. You will drive category performance, manage strategic supplier relationships, and identify market opportunities to optimize costs and mitigate risks.
Job Responsibility:
Accountable and responsible for category strategy development and alignment with Business Units
Accountable for driving and reporting of category performance / results
develop, define, implement and measure cost optimization measures
Track market trends and supplier markets
identify and evaluate category opportunities and risks
Define risk management approach and appropriate actions
Develop category strategy: define strategic goals, target supplier portfolio, global implementation plans and KPIs
Manage relationship with key / strategic suppliers
Monitor strategy implementation: tackle action items in regions, track commodity performance, inform Business Unit representatives
Accountable for definition of buying guide and buying channel
assure continuous information and communication flow within PUR network and share best practice
Lead and develop a team of three professionals, ensuring performance management, skill development, and alignment with departmental goals
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an economic or technical field, such as Business Administration or Industrial Engineering
4 to 7 years of relevant professional experience
Practical experience in managing air, sea, parcel, and land freight services category
High-level proficiency in English and German
Proficient in MS Office
knowledge of SAP is needed
Advanced knowledge of purchasing processes (focus on S2P), strategy development, supplier and risk management, and business partner management
Ability to influence change and reach solutions through persuasion, even when faced with conflicting external objectives
Proven ability to handle difficult, vaguely defined problems that require cross-disciplinary understanding
