Job Description

The Advocate Group are exclusively supporting a growing FMCG business in seeking a commercially astute Category & Insights Manager due to continued growth. This Category & Insights role will play a key part in strengthening customer relationships as well as identifying opportunities both with UK customers and internationally. This isnt your run of the mill role - this is a varied and exciting opportunity where you'll have the ability to influence cross functionally and make a genuine impact

Job Responsibility

  • Analyse category and customer performance using NielsenIQ, Kantar and retailer data platforms
  • Identify performance drivers across distribution, ROS, pricing, promotions, NPD and seasonality
  • Deliver actionable insight to support JBPs, sell-in decks and commercial strategy
  • Evaluate trade activations and promotional effectiveness
  • Monitor competitor activity and innovation pipelines
  • Produce quarterly international category updates and distributor-ready insight decks
  • Act as a centre of excellence for insight and data literacy internally

Requirements

  • Experience in Category Mgmt, Insights or Commercial Analysis within FMCG
  • Working knowledge of NielsenIQ, Kantar and retailer data portals (e.g. dunnhumby, Nectar360,)
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Power BI advantageous
  • Commercially minded, detail-oriented and confident translating data into clear recommendations
  • Comfortable influencing cross-functionally

  • Deep dive into product and destination performance to identify over- and under-performing offers
  • Act as the main point of contact for Supply (buyers) and Content teams to ensure a rigorous, relevant, and high-quality offer selection
  • Ensure Marketing teams have the right market insights and products to promote
  • Analyze market trends and customer buying behavior (destinations, pricing, transport, demographics, key travel windows, etc.) to build a deep understanding of your portfolio
  • Improve product conversion rates through clear and structured action plans (product selection, merchandising, lifecycle management, stock monitoring, technical issue tracking)
  • Monitor website performance KPIs versus the market and propose actionable plans to maximize revenue and member engagement (Traffic, Conversion, and ABV (average basket value))
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis and share insights with internal stakeholders
  • Optimize transport performance (flights) by ensuring high-quality content and closely tracking commercial and technical performance
  • Coordinate, analyze, and monitor the performance of on-site events and campaigns (Voyage Privé initiatives or partnerships)
