Job Description

This role is within the Exposure Management team dedicated to catastrophe risk management for Beazley's Cyber Risks and Speciality Risks divisions. The role will enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of reporting and data processes across the business. The position focuses on modernising reporting pipelines, automating manual workflows, and ensuring the consistent and reliable production of critical management and regulatory information. The postholder will combine technical coding expertise with an understanding of insurance exposure data to deliver robust, long-term solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Work alongside Exposure Management Analysts to update, streamline, and optimise reporting processes using modern coding practices, tooling, and programming languages
  • Design, build, automate, and maintain the production of Management Information (MI), ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, repeatable, and scalable
  • Develop automated data transformation routines, dashboards, and reporting feeds using tools such as SQL, R, Power BI, or Python (if applicable)
  • Build solutions for how Exposure Management data is presented, consumed, and integrated with other functions (e.g., pricing tools, underwriting systems, capital modelling)
  • Create reusable code modules, templates, and documentation to support consistent development standards across the team
  • Review and enhance internal processes for regulatory submissions, including (but not limited to) Lloyd's Realistic Disaster Scenarios (RDS) and Lloyd's RDS/RDL returns
  • Identify opportunities for automation, data quality improvement, and improved auditability within regulatory reporting
  • Ensure processes align with good practices in accuracy, validation, and governance
  • Train colleagues on processes and contribute to the upskilling of Exposure Management colleagues in data automation and reporting
  • Work collaboratively with underwriting support functions (claims, risk, data management) to source, validate, and integrate data where required
  • Partner with IT on system upgrades, technology migrations, process redesigns, and testing to ensure seamless adoption of new Exposure Management systems
  • Collaborate with Beazley IT Architecture to design and implement long-term, scalable technical solutions for reporting, data storage, and process automation
  • Support central Exposure Management on ad-hoc analytical projects, process reviews, and data investigations
  • Contribute to building strong data governance practices and improving data quality across Exposure Management
  • Develop monitoring and validation checks within automated processes to maintain accuracy and consistency
  • Ensure technical solutions are well-documented, tested, and maintainable for future use

Requirements

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent
  • Degree in a relevant discipline preferred but not essential
  • Actuarial background is advantageous but not required
  • Strong numerical ability with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyse issues and develop practical solutions
  • Previous insurance experience, ideally within exposure management, analytics
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel and SQL coding/programming experience
  • Other coding/programming experience desirable (e.g., VBA, R, Python, Power BI)
  • Experience in process automation, data manipulation, and report production desirable
  • Understanding of catastrophe modelling, exposure data, or Lloyd's reporting frameworks beneficial but not essential
