Job Description:

Working as part of our Catalogue Operations team, your role will be to generate labelled data that will be used to power Deliveroo’s Machine Learning and Generative AI models. This will cover a wide variety of types of labelling but will include assigning items to our standardised Taxonomy (eg allocating a can of Coca Cola to our “cola” category), defining the part of meal for an item (eg allocating a cake to our “desserts” category), or labelling the brand of an item (eg Red Bull for an item “Red Bull 250ml”. You’ll be a key part of the team and will work with product, machine Learning, and our commercial teams to improve the accuracy of our existing machine learning models and help to develop new models. We’re working at the cutting edge, and these models are being used to power a vast range of use cases across Deliveroo, helping to power improved experiences for our customers, restaurant partners, grocery and retail partners, riders, and FMCG partners like Coca Cola.

Job Responsibility:

  • Generate labelled data that will be used to power Deliveroo’s Machine Learning and Generative AI models
  • Cover a wide variety of types of labelling including assigning items to our standardised Taxonomy, defining the part of meal for an item, or labelling the brand of an item
  • Work with product, machine Learning, and our commercial teams to improve the accuracy of our existing machine learning models and help to develop new models

Requirements:

  • Experience with spreadsheet software like Google Sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Basic knowledge of food and retail items sold in Deliveroo markets
  • Ability to understand patterns in data and recognise outliers
  • Fluent in English and comfortable working with item information in other languages from Deliveroo’s markets (leveraging translation tools)

  • Prior experience with data labelling, particularly for item classification
  • Experience with Looker
  • Basic understanding of machine learning and/or generative AI
