Job Description:

We are seeking experienced inspectors to join our growing Industrial team to provide Inspection and Certification of pressurised static equipment e.g. vessels, tanks, piping, relief devices, to meet regulatory and client requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Preparing and reviewing Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
  • Identifying preparation requirements from the WSE
  • Examination in accordance with the WSE
  • Undertaking simple NDT – ultrasonic thickness checks, magnetic particle, dye penetrant
  • Coordination of NDT providers for extensive requirements or specialist methods
  • Preparation of clear reports including photographs
  • Assessment of deterioration
  • Reviewing design calculations and sentencing defects
  • Coordinating repairs
  • Participation in Risk Based Inspection studies

Requirements:

  • Trained/qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Engineering Technician status desirable
  • 5 years of experience working within a relevant engineering discipline e.g. mechanical technician
  • Mechanical Engineering background
  • Experience in the Chemical and /or Oil & Gas sectors
  • Understanding of engineering principals
  • EEMUA / API / NDT qualification/experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Eye for detail
  • Meeting tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills, and the capability to work independently
  • Appreciation of pressure equipment
  • Experience / appreciation of non-destructive examination techniques (NDT)
  • UK security clearance criteria

  • Primary contributor to the WHE crane observation program
  • Maintain Shop Repair Order system and ensure satisfactory maintenance and repair schedules
  • Mechanical and electrical inspections of Cat 1, Cat 3 (non-cab overhead), various OHE, MHE and rigging equipment to NAVFAC P-307 standards
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections of Marine Weight Handling Equipment per NSTM Ch-589
