Casual Security Guard

• Conduct regular patrols throughout MESC locations
• Watch for and report irregularities
• Patrol assigned areas on foot or in motor vehicles to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security
• Contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required
• Respond to calls for assistance or respond to building alarm triggers
• Communicate with the O & M team to coordinate entry or walkthrough depending on the alarm situation
• Generate incident reports and maintain a daily notebook, utilizing provided Chromebook
• Utilize two-way radio and computer applications
• Perform daily equipment checks, baton, flashlight, vest, daily walk around vehicle, ensuring everything is in good condition
• Adhere to MESC operating policies and procedures
• Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity of data and information
• Maintain positive relationships with the community
• Follow directions and guidance from the Supervisor
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

• A valid Alberta Security License or the ability to obtain one
• Alberta High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• EMR registration or Standard First Aid Level C CPR
• A minimum of five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
• Must possess and maintain, at minimum, a valid class 5 driver's license
• Must qualify to be insured by MESC’s insurance provider without the Commission being charged an additional premium or surcharge
• A willingness to acquire more education and training as needed
• Must have a valid Security Guard Licence, class 5 drivers licence and a clean 5 year driving abstract to apply for this position
• Must also pass a drug/alcohol test

Ability to speak Cree will be considered an asset
