Job Description

As a Sales Assistant at Evans Cycles, you’ll play a key role in delivering a great experience for every customer who walks through our doors. Whether it’s helping someone choose their first bike, finding the right accessories, or keeping our store looking its best – you’ll bring energy, knowledge, and passion for cycling to every interaction.

Job Responsibility

  • Welcoming and engaging customers, offering friendly and professional advice
  • Developing strong product knowledge across bikes, accessories, and clothing
  • Supporting sales through upselling and cross-selling to meet customer needs
  • Assisting with stock management and keeping the shop floor organised
  • Handling payments accurately and efficiently at the till
  • Maintaining high standards of merchandising and store presentation
  • Promoting safe cycling practices and helping customers choose the right safety gear

Requirements

  • Customer-focused with strong communication skills
  • Enthusiastic about cycling (no need to be an expert – we’ll train you!)
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Reliable, flexible, and eager to learn

  • Gain and maintain up to date product knowledge to best assist our customers
  • Provide personalised 1:1 customer service
  • Assist customers with all queries and process sales
  • Work in collaboration with the wider Management and store team to achieve KPI’s and targets
  • Support wider team with ad hoc tasks, including VM set up, store cleanliness and presentation etc.
  • Escalate any customer complaints to management
  • Consistently complete any mandatory training relevant to product, policy & procedure etc
