At Pet ICU, part of the Animal Emergency Australia (AEA) network, we don’t just manage critical cases – we redefine what’s possible in veterinary intensive care. Located in Underwood, South-East Queensland, our purpose-built 24/7 ICU works at the forefront of emergency and critical care, collaborating with leading specialist teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for patients and their people. We’re seeking an experienced veterinarian with ICU or strong ECC exposure to join us in a casual capacity, with flexible shifts available across days, evenings, and occasional overnights.
Job Responsibility
Oversee hospitalised ICU patients
Manage ventilated and medically complex cases
Work collaboratively with surgery, medicine and cardiology services
Communicate transparently and compassionately with pet owners
Contribute to a high-performance, team-driven culture
Requirements
Experience in ICU, ECC, or advanced medicine (essential)
Confidence managing critical and complex hospitalised patients
A collaborative mindset — you value team-based medicine
Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues
A genuine drive to grow and refine your clinical skills
Nice to have
Membership qualifications (e.g. MANZCVS ECC)
