Cashier's Assistant

• Bags groceries
• retrieves carts and baskets
• cleans, sweeps, mops, stocks products, and helps ensure overall maintenance of the department
• may operate cash register equipment
• assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines
• arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
• provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
• maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
• follows and complies with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
• maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
• performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
• immediately reports safety hazards and violations
• performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• standing or walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
• hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• ability to bend, twist, squat and reach
• exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
• ability to work in temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 90 degrees Fahrenheit
• ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• ability to operate tools and equipment such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks
• must arrive on time and be appropriately groomed and dressed
