Job Description

Cashier position at Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Durban Umhlanga Ridge, part of Marriott International. The role involves processing payments, handling cash, maintaining workstation, adhering to safety standards, and providing guest service.

Job Responsibility

  • Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies
  • Follow property control audit standards and cash handling procedures
  • Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies
  • Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve discrepancies
  • Set up and organize cashier workstation
  • Complete opening duties
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
