Job Description

The Cash & Controls Analyst will play a critical role in supporting year-end and quarter-end cash processes, with particular ownership of calculating and landing the year-end cash position. This role is highly visible within the organisation and will work closely with senior stakeholders, including the CFO, to ensure confidence in cash delivery, financial controls, and savings performance. The role is well suited to a senior finance professional with a strong controls mindset, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a passion for continuous improvement rather than pure BAU delivery.

Job Responsibility

  • Calculate, manage, and deliver the year-end and quarter-end cash position
  • Own and improve processes for landing accurate cash numbers, identifying opportunities to enhance robustness and efficiency
  • Manage and analyse large, complex datasets to produce clear, accurate cash reporting
  • Track, report, and help drive a range of savings initiatives on a monthly basis
  • Provide strong financial control and governance over spend, including challenging non-compliant or unauthorised expenditure
  • Partner with senior leaders to manage risks and opportunities, ensuring expectations are clearly aligned
  • Act as a trusted finance contact for cost control and cash performance across the business
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across cash, controls, and spend management

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with strong post-qualified experience
  • Proven experience in cash management, financial controls, and complex financial reporting
  • Confident stakeholder manager, able to challenge senior leaders constructively and professionally
  • Strong analytical capability with experience handling large datasets
  • A continuous improvement mindset - not someone looking for a purely BAU role
  • Resilient and credible, with the confidence to enforce policy and provide assurance at senior level
