Job Description:

Detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join our team in Milwaukie, Oregon. In this long-term contract position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing incoming payments and maintaining clean accounts receivable records.

Job Responsibility:

Post daily payments received through various channels, including credit cards, lockbox, and third-party portals
Apply finance charges and process small balance write-offs in line with company policies
Investigate and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments promptly
Manage third-party billing systems and address discrepancies effectively
Interface with internal teams and external customers to address payment application issues
Reconcile daily deposits with bank records to ensure consistency and accuracy
Contribute to month-end closing activities, including cash application and accounts receivable reconciliations
Work closely with collections and credit teams to maintain accurate account records
Participate in special projects as needed to support departmental goals

Requirements:

At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, cash application, or related financial roles
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational capabilities
Proven ability to perform high-volume data entry tasks with accuracy
Familiarity with accounting systems or software such as CyberSource, Epic Software, or other related tools is preferred
Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of accounting functions, including ACH and billing processes, is advantageous
