Job Description:

At the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), we are always on the lookout for top talent to strengthen our dynamic team. We are now seeking a Case Officer to support public protection by managing and progressing protection of title, health and character declarations and potential fitness to practise cases.

Job Responsibility:

  • Receive and effectively manage enquiry calls from applicants, registrants and members of the public
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of protection of title, health and character and fitness to practise processes to provide accurate advice
  • Investigate allegations of misuse of protected title or function and make decisions on case progression or closure
  • Receive and process applicant health and character declarations
  • Prepare health and character cases for consideration by the Registration Panel
  • Log and carry out initial enquiries into new potential fitness to practise concerns to inform triage decisions
  • Identify and prioritise high risk cases to ensure timely action
  • Maintain accurate case records in line with policies, procedures and service standards

Requirements:

  • Experience managing a high volume and varied caseload
  • Experience working within a legislative or policy driven framework and making evidence based decisions
  • Experience supporting and managing challenging or vulnerable customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including use of plain English
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while meeting service standards and performance indicators
