Kanda is looking for a hands-on Case Manager to join our Children, Youth and Family Services team in Mackay. This role is ideal for someone who understands the local community, enjoys working closely with young people, and wants to make a real difference in their daily lives. You will support young people in residential care while leading and guiding a small team of residential care workers to ensure safe, consistent, and person centred support.
Job Responsibility:
Lead a team of residential care workers, providing regular supervision and fostering a supportive team environment
Develop, manage, and review individualised plans for young people, addressing their needs and goals
Work collaboratively with departments, stakeholders, government agencies, and community partners to ensure coordinated support for youth
Complete mandatory reporting and administrative tasks to meet organisational and regulatory requirements
Participate in supervision, team meetings, stakeholder meetings, and inter-agency meetings
Provide direct care support by completing shifts as needed, ensuring continuity of care for young people
Requirements:
Certificate IV, Diploma, or Bachelor in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Education
Proven experience in youth services management, including program oversight and staff supervision
Strong understanding of Child Protection principles and experience working with government and non-government agencies
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, and manage conflicts or complaints
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
