Job Description:

Using Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies, all DBIS staff are professional team members responsible for supporting each individual’s right to live a safe, enjoyable, meaningful life at home and in the community. As cooperative team members, we support environments that foster creative opportunities for the changing needs and desires of the people we serve.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with the start-up of the site, setting up of the site
  • Oversee Shared Living sites to ensure compliance with ServiceNet and State mandated Health and Safety Standards
  • Oversee and ensure health care, welfare and safety of the individuals we serve
  • Oversee individual money management needs
  • Respond to crisis via the 24-hr rotating on call system
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations
  • Enforce division regulations and policies
  • Make decisions in times of crisis in the absence of the Director of Operations
  • Coach, train, supervise, mentor and evaluate Shared Living Providers and their relief staff
  • Attend meetings as appropriate related to the individual
  • Schedule and attend at least one monthly site visit
  • Attend regular meetings with the Director of Operations
  • Arrange/provide assistance to individuals when Shared Living Providers need it
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere
  • Team builder, supporter, and mentor
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all organizational and client information

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a related field and/or three years full-time experience working with people who live with developmental delays and/or brain injuries
  • Experience working with the DBIS population
  • CPR & 1st Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to or upon hire)
  • MAP certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to or upon hire)
  • Human Rights Officer, Fire Safety Officer and PBS training as required per program
