As an operator for our client's carrot washing facility, your day begins at the weighbridge, where you carefully inspect and record the carrot loads. You'll then guide the carrots through the entire washing line: from unloading onto the conveyor belt, through the shakers and washing drums, to the sorting hall. Your primary task is to set, monitor, and adjust the parameters of this advanced production line. You'll also manage an industrial cleaner and be the first point of contact for detecting and (where possible) resolving minor malfunctions. It's an independent and responsible role within a close-knit, primarily English-speaking team.
Job Responsibility:
Operational control: managing and monitoring the entire carrot washing process and the transport line, from weighing to sorting
Process optimization: correctly setting the parameters of the automated washing and shaking machines and making timely adjustments to the production process to ensure optimal quality
Quality recording: performing necessary checks on the carrots and accurately recording all relevant data from delivered shipments
Fault management: quickly locating technical problems and malfunctions on the line and proactively intervening to minimize downtime
Team support: managing and supervising the industrial cleaner and assisting where necessary to ensure the continuity of vegetable processing
Requirements:
Experience as an operator, line manager, or machine operator in a production environment is a major plus
A diploma in an electrical engineering field or demonstrable equivalent technical knowledge and experience
Technological insight and the ability to quickly understand the operation of automated systems
A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and proactively
Problem-solving skills to quickly locate and resolve malfunctions
Flexibility is essential: hours and shift patterns may vary from week to week (primarily early and late shifts: 5 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1 p.m.-9 p.m.), and overtime may occur
Excellent command of English is required, as the team is primarily English-speaking
Nice to have:
Forklift experience is helpful, but a certificate is not an absolute requirement
You have your own transportation to easily reach the location in Kortemark (fairly remote)
