Lead the design, integration, and optimization of wired and wireless smartphone projection technologies on next-generation automotive infotainment platforms. The role involves driving the end-to-end system architecture, ensuring compliance with Apple and Google certification standards, and collaborating with crossfunctional teams covering OS/middleware, connectivity, audio, and HMI.
Job Responsibility:
Define end-to-end architecture for CarPlay and Android Auto (wired & wireless) integration on infotainment platforms (Android Automotive OS, QNX, Linux)
Ensure scalability and modularity of the projection stack within the overall infotainment system architecture
Define coexistence strategy for CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring smooth user experience and seamless switching
Guide teams in integrating and configuring both projection frameworks (CarPlay & Android Auto)
Enable and validate session establishment, pairing, authentication (MFi, AOAP), and wireless handover flows
Ensure end-to-end projection stability across various mobile ecosystems (Apple, Pixel, Samsung, etc.)
Review and optimize video/audio streaming, latency, bandwidth, and startup performance
Work closely with connectivity teams to resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth coexistence issues
Provide deep technical guidance in debugging projection-related issues using tools such as adb, Xcode logs, Wireshark, QXDM/QCAT, and internal debug utilities
Lead root cause analysis for session drops, latency, or audio sync issues
Define system-level KPIs and drive optimization for projection stability, performance, and compliance
Drive Apple (MFi, CarPlay) and Google (Android Auto) certification and compliance processes
Collaborate with vendors (Qualcomm, RF, connectivity suppliers) and OEMs for technical alignment
Support pre-certification validation, regression testing, and issue resolution for certification approval
Mentor development teams during integration, system validation, and vehicle-level testing
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
10–14 years in automotive infotainment development, system architecture, or projection technology (CarPlay/Android Auto)
In-depth knowledge of CarPlay and Android Auto projection frameworks and underlying protocols (USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)
Strong understanding of Android Automotive OS, QNX/Linux middleware, and audio integration pipelines (A2DP, HFP, Siri, Google Assistant, navigation prompts)
Expertise in HMI integration, projection rendering, and system-level networking
Experience in Google and Apple certification workflows
Hands-on experience with Qualcomm platforms (SA8155, SA8295, SA6145) or equivalent SoCs
Familiarity with coexistence handling (Wi-Fi + BT + LTE) and OTA/cloud update mechanisms
Strong system thinking, analytical, and debugging mindset
