Requirements

Must live within the service area
Minimum of 10 years of paid experience as a handyman
Must own and maintain your own set of tools
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Must be insurable to drive a company vehicle
Must successfully complete a background check, driving record check, and drug screening
Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
Able to work safely at heights and perform overhead tasks for extended periods
Must maintain a professional appearance and keep the company-provided vehicle in clean, presentable condition
Strong proficiency in carpentry work, bathroom improvements, kitchen improvements, painting (inside and out), drywall work (minor and major repairs), general plumbing and electrical (where allowed by law), floor installation and refurbishing, familiar with building codes

Job Responsibility

Completing small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects
Communicating with customers to help them understand what they need and manage expectations about scope of work and costs
Deliver a great experience that wows life-long repeat customers
Follow the Mr. Handyman Way process
Encourage customers to complete satisfaction surveys
Find additional ways to be of service to the customer to meet revenue targets
Invoice appropriately, source needed materials, and collect payment from the customer
Ensure work is done correctly the first time to minimize recalls

Requirements

Must have own van or similar and Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle (to including Business Cover Use and Motor Insurance Policy)
Own tools
Very good/fluent verbal English and basic written English
Good communication skills
Basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, tiling, decorating etc.
Excellent time management and organisation

Job Responsibility

Undertaking general decorating, tiling, basic electrics (wiring sockets etc), basic plumbing (tap changes etc), basic carpentry (hanging doors, fitting locks / fixing bath panels), landscaping, fencing and property/garden clearance work and general bathroom and kitchen installation
Act as a competent person as directed and appointed
The role will be to work within a team to maintain Midland Mencap properties and our citizen’s residential properties within the Birmingham area
