Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a skilled Carpenter to support facility maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction projects at Oriana House locations throughout the Akron, Ohio market. This is a hands-on skilled trades position for an experienced carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving, and maintaining safe, functional facilities. You will perform a wide range of commercial carpentry and building maintenance work across occupied facilities and operational environments. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial carpentry, facilities maintenance, remodeling, institutional construction, or property maintenance and is comfortable working independently while supporting a larger facilities operations team. This is not residential new construction. This role focuses on maintaining and improving active facilities through repairs, renovations, preventative maintenance, and ongoing building improvements.
Job Responsibility
Perform rough and finish carpentry work
Repair doors, frames, walls, ceilings, flooring, and fixtures
Install drywall, trim, cabinetry, shelving, and hardware
Complete painting, patching, framing, and general building repairs
Support remodeling and renovation projects
Read blueprints, sketches, and maintenance work orders
Repair and install commercial building materials and finishes
Operate hand tools, power tools, saws, drills, and construction equipment safely
Assist with preventative maintenance and facility improvement projects
Identify structural or safety concerns and recommend corrective action
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Support emergency repair needs when required
Requirements
Previous experience as a Carpenter, Maintenance Carpenter, Facilities Carpenter, Remodel Technician, or Construction Maintenance Technician required
Experience with commercial carpentry and general building repairs
Strong knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, and tools
Ability to read measurements, blueprints, and technical drawings
Experience operating hand and power tools safely
Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Reliable attendance and professional communication skills
Valid driver's license may be required
