Carpenter

• Read and interpret architectural and shop drawings, cutting lists and specifications to fabricate custom cabinetry and detailed joinery (kitchens, wardrobes, integrated storage, reception counters)
• Set out, machine, assemble and finish components using panel saws, routers, edge-banders, CNC (where applicable), hand tools and jigs
• Select and prepare timbers, veneers, laminates and hardware
• fit hinges, runners and architectural hardware to specification
• Quality-check dimensions, squareness, tolerances and finishes prior to dispatch
• Install kitchens, built-ins and bespoke joinery on residential and commercial sites, including scribing, templating, benchtop fitting and final adjustments
• Perform associated site carpentry (framing/trims, sub-floors, bulkheads, feature walls) to support joinery fit-off and office fitouts
• Set out and erect internal frameworks (stud walls, nibs, bulkheads, pelmets and plinths) to receive bespoke joinery and services
• install ceiling/bulkhead framing for feature soffits
• Coordinate with builders, project managers and other trades to sequence works, verify set-outs and resolve site clashes
• Manufacture and install reception counters, workstations, storage walls, boardroom joinery and shop/office frontage elements in accordance with program and site rules
• Protect finished surfaces, manage materials efficiently, and uphold JBIF’s craftsmanship and client-service standards

• Trade qualification in Carpentry and/or Joinery (at least Certificate III)
• At least 1 year of proven work experience as a Carpenter
• WHS First mindset, tidy work habits, and clear communications with clients/site manager
• Reliable, organised, able to work independently or lead a small crew
• Strong plan reading, set-out and measuring skills
• Competent with woodworking machinery and a high standard of hand-tool work/finishing

superannuation
