Job Description:

The Carpenter or Engineer II position at The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting hotel systems. Responsibilities include repairing equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as training and mentoring other engineers. The role requires certifications and hotel maintenance experience and emphasizes collaboration and meeting luxury service standards.

Job Responsibility:

Respond and attend to guest repair requests
Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems
Troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical equipment, and cosmetic items
Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work
Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and light bulb and A/C filter replacement
Display ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background
Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting
At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements
Valid Driver’s License
