Lead a positive working relationship with Mayo personnel, staff, patients, proponents, associates, architects, subcontractors, and city officials to support business growth. Has the ability to supervise, administer, and coordinate all field activities. Ensures that project work is completed on or ahead of schedule, on or under budget, and client and associated parties (i.e., proponents, Architect, engineers, etc.) are delighted with the final product. This position is represented by North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters, Area B - Southeastern Minnesota. Team members in this role work under a collective bargaining agreement that outlines wages, benefits, and working conditions. Union membership and dues will apply following hire, per the agreement.
Job Responsibility:
Lead a positive working relationship with Mayo personnel, staff, patients, proponents, associates, architects, subcontractors, and city officials to support business growth.
Supervise, administer, and coordinate all field activities.
Ensure that project work is completed on or ahead of schedule, on or under budget, and client and associated parties are delighted with the final product.
Maintain and/or build an effective relationship with Mayo Construction Managers and Project Managers.
Communicate effectively and regularly with Weis Project Manager and General Foreman.
Provide input and help determine any required phasing and temporary walls/barriers.
Assist with developing project schedules.
Attend pre-bid meetings and provide man-hour input to Estimator.
Monitor and maintain a project specific safety program.
Maintain a neat and orderly work site.
Hold required safety meetings.
Provide timely and accurate documentation and reporting of safety issues.
Plan and supervise work of field associates, subcontractors, and vendors.
Prepare all reports, records, and forms as required.
Monitor required submittals.
Track subcontractor time and material work.
Resolve construction problems, lack of productivity complaints, and grievances.
Participate in job progress meetings, weekly project team meetings, and client meetings.
Prepare/obtain as-built drawings.
Submit weekly timecards.
Responsible for the project schedule.
Prepare and attend schedule logic review meetings.
Work with the project team to update and analyze the project schedule.
Prepare three-week look-ahead schedules.
Schedule and coordinate all subcontractors and material suppliers.
Monitor Subcontractor workforce.
Ensure all work is following specified quality standards and working hour restrictions.
Conduct document reviews with subcontractors.
Inspect subcontractor’s work for quality compliance.
Inspect material for quality compliance.
Coordinate testing agencies.
Strive for zero punch list items.
Adhere to Weis Builders’ Quality Assurance processes.
Maintain a clean and organized jobsite office.
Ensure all conduit, pipe and duct penetrations through fire rated assemblies are properly sealed and labeled.
Maintain clear communications on project status.
Ensure work being completed is consistent with client expectations.
Communicate major issues.
Provide leadership, development feedback, and mentorship to assigned associates.
Foster an equitable and inclusive environment.
Maintain assigned tools and construction equipment.
Identify and implement cost and time saving measures.
Keep off-site storage unit neat and orderly.
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Journeyman Union Carpenter
OSHA 30 training is required
Previous experience in a medical or healthcare facility environment
Thorough knowledge of trade activities through subcontractors or self-performance
Knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office
Ability to effectively use a laptop and iPad at the work site.

Functional/Technical Skills — deep understanding of construction management processes, building codes, safety regulations, and trades (testing, concrete, masonry, metals, carpentry, woodwork, roofing, insulation, windows/doors, drywall, painting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical) required for successful completion of the project.
