Job Description

We are looking to recruit a support worker to provide enabling support and care for a very happy, unique 7-year-old boy to provide him with positive interaction and care according to specific targets. He is a non-communicative boy, with no understanding of risk or danger. He therefore requires somebody who can always ensure his safety and well-being in an appropriate setting/environment, including occasional excursions.

Job Responsibility

  • To provide a safe home environment
  • To give support care and guidance helping to achieve development and targets
  • Support with feeding is required
  • Moving and handling is a necessity, as child is not able to walk very far and requires a pushchair when out
  • Support with personal care
  • including changing of nappies, and regular changing of bibs

Requirements

  • Have experience and a positive understanding about children who have additional needs
  • Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex requirements
  • Have a high degree of initiative
  • Honest, reliable, Punctual and trustworthy with a caring nature
  • Respect confidentiality is a must
  • A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance

What we offer

  • Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata
  • Out of pocket expenses will be met by the Employer
  • satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense)
  • Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged
