As a Cargo Officer, you’ll be responsible for the operational management and oversight of our third-party ground handling agents, ensuring cargo performance meets business objectives while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, compliance and customer service. You’ll act as the operational guardian of the cargo product on the ground — supervising warehouse and ramp activity, ensuring customs and regulatory compliance, and driving performance against key operational metrics.
Job Responsibility:
Maximise aircraft capacity by effectively overseeing third-party handling agents and transport providers
Supervise cargo screening, build-up and ramp transfer, ensuring full compliance with SOPs, safety standards and ACC3 requirements
Conduct Dangerous Goods (DG) and ULD compliance checks in line with the Cargo Operations Manual, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
Act as the central point of contact for the day’s cargo loading operation, monitoring warehouse and ramp performance and addressing any issues swiftly
Ensure accurate export data capture and timely completion of documentation and system inputs (including UWS, LIR and NOTOC)
Coordinate import shipments and customs liaison, responding professionally to customer, supplier and internal queries to maintain smooth operations
Requirements:
Relevant experience in Air Cargo Operations
Knowledge of local regulatory standards and requirements, including customs
Broad understanding of the cargo industry, including IATA standards and associated documentation
Confidence operating in a fast-paced warehouse and ramp environment
Strong communication and influencing skills, with experience managing third-party relationships
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to build effective working relationships across cargo, airports, sales teams, and local authorities
