The Cargo Agent is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of import and export cargo, including acceptance, documentation, storage, and aircraft servicing at Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Requires attention to detail, physical capability, and strong customer service to support cargo operations in compliance with airline, customs, and hazmat regulations. Must be flexible, safety-minded, and able to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining professionalism and clear communication. This is a union represented position.
Job Responsibility:
Acceptance, documentation, storage, and aircraft servicing of import and export cargo
Prepare and process airway bills, cargo manifests, and other documentation
Set up, sort, store, and move cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment
Build up and break down Unit Load Devices (ULDs)
Perform marshalling, loading, and unloading of freighter aircraft
Deliver and retrieve cargo from aircraft gates
Prepare and submit U.S. Customs documentation
Clear cargo through U.S. Customs and other regulatory agencies
Provide accurate information to customers regarding cargo services and customs requirements
Account for charge transactions related to shipments
Audit daily transactions
Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and recordkeeping
Perform duties of lower classifications as needed
Adhere to all safety protocols
Requirements:
Must be willing and able to train and pass forklift certification
Must be willing and able to learn and operate a computerized cargo system
Ability to complete Hazardous Material training
Ability to consistently lift up to 70lbs unassisted
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp
Ability to demonstrate good customer relations skills
Ability to work under pressure with the public and all levels of employees
Must have a valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, a US territory or the District of Columbia
Flexible to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification
Ability to obtain airport security clearance
Ability to communicate in English
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum age of 18
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
